ircd-ratbox software package provides advanced, stable and fast ircd, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ircd-ratbox
ircd-ratbox is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ircd-ratbox package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ircd-ratbox *
You will get with ircd-ratbox package name, version, architecture and description in a table
